Hey guys,

Just updating you on the latest. My previous post was all about the marathon tennis match and at the time I posted it, the match still wasn’t over.

I can safely say that the Wimbledon match and the longest ever match is finally over. Only an hour and five minutes were needed on the 3rd day that the match was in to be completed. Resuming at 59-59, John Isner and Nicolas Mahut continued the way they were playing. Both looked to go on for a century. Alas it didn’t!

The break finally came in the 138th game of the 5th set and handed Isner the win. The previous break in the match before this came two days ago in the first game of the second set. The two players held serve after that for an astonishing 169 games!

“For the record, the match eclipsed the previous longest – a 2004 French Open duel between Frenchmen Fabrice Santoro and Arnaud Clement – by a massive four hours and 32 minutes. The combined ace tally stood at 215, with Isner hammering down 112, just nine more than his opponent on 103.”
