Hello everyone,

I know this is long overdue but here it is. I shall explain first. So, after the initial start on this blog, I began to run into problems. First of all, I had exams and all and on top of that the blog started to show major problems which I don’t know how to fix and then came the summer holidays. In the meanwhile, I began writing for many other sites and people and so I got by with that and completely forgot about this. Sorry for that. Then after the summer holidays, I found someone very nice to fix this blog for a cheap price and now it is August 20th and I am back. 178 days later.

It definitely feels nice to be back. A lot of things have happened ever since then. I will just write a short line or two about whatever I want to out of what has happened the past 178 days or so…

Sometime – Let me start off with Barcelona beating Manchester United in the final of the Champions League. That was one awesome match and Barcelona definitely deserved it.
Sometime – Slumdog Millionaire killed the competition at the Oscars even though it shouldn’t have. People couldn’t stop talking about it here in India for months to come.
Sometime – Brazil won the 2009 FIFA Federations Cup after coming from behind 2-0 to win 3-2.
3 March – Five members of the Sri Lankan national team were injured when their team bus was attacked by masked gunmen en route to the stadium for the third day’s play. Tour was cancelled after that. Subsequently Pakistan lots the rights to host the 2011 World Cup along with India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
The Ashes are going on and the 5th Test is underway.

Tour De France – Alberto Contador won the Tour De France this year. He won it in 2007 as well. In 2008 his team was suspended.
Tennis – Roger Federer went back to being Number 1. He finally won the French Open. Andy Murray is now World Number 2 and Rafael Nadal is World Number 3. Andy Roddick and Roger Federer have an epic match in the final of the Wimbledon Championship 2009.
Golf – Tiger Wood’s streak of 14-0 after leading the first three days of play of a major, was finally snapped by an reletively unknown Asian.

Feb 11 – Morgan Tsvangirai was sworn in as Prime Minister of Zimbabwe in a power sharing deal with President Rober Mugabe. Nothing good has come of that since then.

April 6 – 6.3 magnitude earthquake strikes near L’Aquila, Italy. Almost 300 people died and 1500 were injured.
May 18 – After more than 25 years of fighting, the Sri Lankan Civil War finally ended with the total military defeat of the LTTE and Prabakharan died.
No specific date – North Korea and their persistence with the Nuclear Missiles and condemnation from the rest of the world.
June 1 – Air France Flight 447, en route from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to Paris, crashes into the Atlantic Ocean. All 228 on board were killed.
June 11 – Outbreak of H1N1 influenza strain (AKA Swine Flu) is deemed a global pandemic by the WHO.

June 12 – Mahmoud Ahmadinejad gets re-elected as President of Iran in a highly disputed elections. Protests continue till date on the issue and lots of people have died.
June 20 – The death of Neda Agha-Soltan, an Iranian student shot during the protests. This was captrued on video and lots of people watched it around the world.
June 25 – Michael Jackson died. This caused the Internet to briefly shut (slow to snails pace). People mourned in large numbers and news channels were over him for the next few days.

July 22  -The longest total solar eclipse of the 21st Century, lasting up to  6 minutes and 38.8 seconds, occurs over parts of Asia and the Pacific Ocean.

There were many things more that happened and so much more to write about. I am just glad that I am back to blogging. I won’t go for so long again, I promise guys. I will be back again on Saturday or maybe even tomorow and post again for you guys.
