So, Fifa has finally chosen its song for the Fifa World Cup 2010. It’s called Wavin’ Flag and it’s by K’naan. My respect for him has gone up tremendously after this. K’naan is a Somali-Canadian poet, rapper and musician. He will sing the song along with the spanish musician David Bisbal. He is a very good singer and I am sure this song will be a smash hit just like the previous World Cup songs!
Here is the video for the song:
Here is the official video for hte Fifa World Cup 2010:
How does it compare to the 1998 Song (not theme song) but was used in the official video game and all. It’s called Tubthumping and is by Chumbawamba:
I think it does live up to the standard. This is the best theme song in a long time. It really did bring it to me. It made me realize how passionate people are about the sport and how the sport brings together people and actually does stop fighting. People do unite to watch their nation kick a soccer ball. Some day I hope India will make it to the Fifa World Cup and may that day come soon. What do you guys think of the official video? I like it but I don’t think it beats the original video…
I know this is a short post but it was always meant to be. I just wanted to get the video out there so more of you could watch it. I hope you all enjoy it and I would like your thoughts on how the song was and which song is better? Also, if you could choose the Fifa World Cup theme song, which one would you choose?
Till next time. I’m Sahil, switching off!

I think its better if we see each song in its own perspective rather than comparing – still I appreciate the thought of coming up with this post!

I hate the song. Its so shrill…and not relevant.
