The weather yesterday was finally decent. After a week or two of constant temperatures of above 40*C, yesterday came as a surprise. It was cloudy and the wind was blowing. The temperature must have been at least 5-10 degrees cooler and this surely would have brought a relief too many people. Day-before also had some decent weather but yesterday just made it so much better.
I live in New Delhi, and around May, June and parts of July, we get horrible weather. The year 2010 has been especially worse. The cold stayed longer and the heat came in early. We really had no decent weather. It has either been too hot or pretty cold (for our standards). The winter is at least bearable. You can keep putting on more clothes and it is easy to fit in with the temperatures. In summer though, one keeps trying to find the right temperature with the combination of both the fan and AC and you never seem to get it right. Either you have to keep shutting off the AC or changing the fan speed and all. Plus, in the summers, when you go out, you can’t just keep taking off layers cause eventually you’ll have nothing left and you won’t want to be in public like that.
Also, wouldn’t any of you want to live in 10*C rather than 43*C? I definitely would choose the 10*C as it gives a more comfortable feeling and you can actually do a lot of things in the winter which you can’t in the summer. I seem to be straying off the topic a little though.
Yesterday, was a great day. The temperature was down and the atmosphere looked all different. I decided to take a stroll around my house and take a few pictures of the lovely weather. A few moments after I got out though, it started to rain. Not exactly rain but drizzle. Even the drizzle was only slight. Still, as the camera wasn’t mine, I didn’t want it to get wait or spoilt or anything so I took a few pictures and then shut the camera off. I waited for five minutes but it still drizzled so I had to get home. I do have around 5 photos which look really nice and I am going to post them right below this. I hope you enjoy them:
Click on the photos to see them in full glory…
1. The Road: A little too many cars?
2. The Park: Where one goes for a nice walk
3. The Park – Part 2: Trees anyone?
4. Thunder?: Is it going to pour?
5. Cricket anyone?: India vs Afghanistan in the park
6. More Trees?: Greenery
7. Is that rain?: Maybe just a slight drizzle
8. After School Fun: “I know I still have my backpack!”
9. House and Rain: Ordinary?
10. My lane: Beautiful isn’t it?
So 10 photos for you too all enjoy. I would have taken more but due to the rain I had to cut short my walkabout of the neighbourhood. Maybe tomorrow or day-after I shall venture out again. I’d like to know from all of you what you think fo the photographs. Are they worthy of anything? Or are they just amateurish?
To answer the question that the title of this post poses – The rain never came. Only a slight drizzle which lasted all but ten minutes. I expected more but maybe in the next few days it will rain much more havily and bring down the temperatures another 5 degrees or so!
Well as it is 2:25 AM in the morning, I think this is all I am going to write and blog about for now.
I had a little problem with the pictures and I couldn’t post it at 2:25 AM in the morning. I assure you that I did write it at that time.

Weather cycle is not what it used to be – remember the jacket we used to carry on Diwali and using cold water without blinking an eyelid on Holi? Cant happen now – global warming is closer than it appears…
Well written – but to be true…polishing is missing…as in using the flowery language and difficult words…but a nice start!
Pics hurt me the most…I am from Delhi after all….missed it more watching the pics…nice use of the camera….dark, but thats how it was supposed to be…
Good stuff there Sahil…all the best!
